Just 10 Photos?

wpid-IMG_20121030_225847.jpg

This week over at Stasha's Monday Listicles, Jessica suggested we share 10 PHOTOS FROM OUR PHONE. She also gave us an alternative option: 10 NAMES YOU CONSIDERED FOR YOUR KIDS. As you can tell, I'm opting for the easier bit. Also, I'm going to cheat a little. Because honestly, just 10 photos? Seriously? So...I picked collages I've made using pics on my phone. (Sneaky, BUT smart, right?) If you follow me on Instagr.am, Facebook, or Twitter, you might have seen some of these images before. Oh well. I like to relive my past through photos because I have an awful memory... So just enjoy the short ride, will ya? Just because I know Stasha won't mind (cuz she did it first), I'm adding 2 more too! If you were wondering, I have the ...continue reading

Monday Listicles: Amazing Memories

wpid-PhotoGrid_1352135450620.jpg

Jumping in the listicles bandwagon today! The prompt: Share 10 Amazing Memories from a Not So Distant Past - suggested by our fabulous one and only Ducky. A little background story before the list... So the family and I were supposed to go to Hawaii last Wednesday for about a week.  Long story short, no $$$ equals no Hawaii.  Did you know airline tax per person is like $280 dollars???  Yep.  Bye bye Hawaii. The next best thing:  San Diego. The hubs surprised us by booking a hotel by the sea.  Literally by the sea!  It was at Humphrey's on Shelter Island.  Well, I'm getting ahead of myself...we actually went to Sea World before checking in at the hotel. Here then, is my 10 Amazing Memories in San Diego (with pictures)! 1.  jumping dolphins and whales 2.  tide ...continue reading

She’s A Big Girl Now

1st Week of Preschool

Last week was my 3 year old's 1st week of school.  Ever. Although I homeschool my 7 year old, we've decided to put The Toddler in Preschool because.... 1.  I don't have the materials or resources to turn my house into a preschool learning environment. 2.  I don't have the capacity to teach a 3rd/4th grader, take care of a needy 1 year old, AND teach a preschooler with the attention span of a squirrel.  (Bounces off the walls like a squirrel too, actually.) 3.  I cannot give or guarantee her a routine learning schedule - something schoolchildren at this age depend upon for success. So, off to Preschool she went. The week before, I thought it would be a good bonding idea for my husband to take The Toddler to the store to get a back-to-school item.  I was thinking, you ...continue reading

My Cooking Skills Are Being Threatened

Cooking Camp 2012

Everyday last week, from 9-12, Eldest learned a tasty dish or two.  She came home with stories of bossy girls, detailed recipe descriptions, and a full tummy.  (Seriously though, for the price I paid to put her in that summer class, she had better be fed something!) Here was the line-up. Monday:  French Toast and Hotdogs I don't know about you, but somehow, I don't think these two go together well.  Anyway, I loved that she learned how to make French toast.  It's my favorite breakfast food.  The boiled hotdog though?  I won't mind if she completely forgets how to make that one. Tuesday:  Hamburger and "Dirt Cups" They actually used raw meat, added seasonings, and cooked the patties.  I was impressed and worried at the same time.  I get so paranoid just handling meat ...continue reading

One Awesome Reunion

CAN YOU FIND ME?

I have never been to a reunion.  My high school reunion happened without me.  I couldn't attend because it was too far and I didn't have a place to stash the kids.  It was an adult only shindig, so that made it very difficult for us to go. Maybe if we have another high school reunion, I'd go.  If the conditions were right and pigs were flying. However, I look forward more to an Elementary School Reunion! It would be very hard to go to because it's in the Philippines.  I probably wouldn't be able to drag my family along nor will I be able to go by myself.  So the chances of it happening is very, very little.  Unless I win he Lotto or Mega Millions. If it does happen, it would be ONE AWESOME REUNION.  10 reasons why: 1.  It's a Filipino event.  That ...continue reading
