Just 10 Photos?

wpid-IMG_20121030_225847.jpg

This week over at Stasha's Monday Listicles, Jessica suggested we share 10 PHOTOS FROM OUR PHONE. She also gave us an alternative option: 10 NAMES YOU CONSIDERED FOR YOUR KIDS. As you can tell, I'm opting for the easier bit. Also, I'm going to cheat a little. Because honestly, just 10 photos? Seriously? So...I picked collages I've made using pics on my phone. (Sneaky, BUT smart, right?) If you follow me on Instagr.am, Facebook, or Twitter, you might have seen some of these images before. Oh well. I like to relive my past through photos because I have an awful memory... So just enjoy the short ride, will ya? Just because I know Stasha won't mind (cuz she did it first), I'm adding 2 more too! If you were wondering, I have the ...continue reading

First Of All

monday listicles

Monday Listicles time! This week, the topic was suggested by Bridget: List of 10 firsts. I am the first... ...born and first daughter of my grandma's first daughter. ...of all my cousins to drive her own car at 15 1/2 yrs old. (I should've gotten the Mitsubishi Eclipse instead of my Toyota Corolla. Right?) ...(and only) of my cousins to play competitive volleyball. ...of my maternal cousins to get married. ...in my immiediate & extended family to have a BLOG! ...to raise my voice in an argument. "I said STOP YELLING! Sheesh!" ...to lose my cool. $&#@$! ...to forget important things. What happened when? ...to fall asleep in a lecture. You've been to college? Then you know. ...to cry at sappy movies. "Ever After" anyone? What are YOUR firsts? ...continue reading

Party Like It’s 1999

michael jordan

Although I love my parents dearly, I'm going to skip this week's theme of 10 Things My Parents Did Right and do last week's 10 People Living or Dead You Would Invite to a Dinner Party instead. Why?  Because I totally had that one all ready, but circumstances - as in my Father-In-Law got admitted to the ICU and is still there - have kept me busy keeping down the fort.  With my husband and his siblings taking turns with hospital visits and having numerous text messages and email exchanges all week, I've had to watch not just my own, but my in-laws' kids as well. Not fair?  I thought so too.  But, I figure it was for a good cause.  I couldn't go to the hospital because my kids are too little, so I was "available" to babysit at last minute.  Yes, I'm a busy SAHM and these people don't ...continue reading

Money Tree

It's been a while since I've done a listicle, not because I didn't want to, but because I haven't had much time to do anything else.  In case you haven't heard, I'm behind in homeschooling and have sacrificed nap time in an attempt to finish before summer passes us by... Anywho, I'm taking a little breather here to join up Stasha and spend some imaginary cash.  Let's just say that I need to satisfy my shopping needs somehow! Seriously though Stasha, I only get a thousand?  I could spend this in one transaction...  I just looked it up.  $932 will get me ONE round-trip to ticket to Hawaii.  The rest of the #68?  Those will probably be spent on stupid "Baggage Fees" and other airport/airline taxes. But I'm going to make this fun and pretend that I took the $1000 you gave me, ...continue reading

Before I Go Into That Good Place…

monday listicles

This week's Monday Listicles is a real challenge.  Ally from Two normal moms said we should write a list about “10 things you’d like to see happen before you die." There are so many things I want to do and see!  How can I narrow it down to just ten? So I suppose, this list really is more like "10 out of a whole bunch of things I'd like to see before I go into that good place..." I'd like to see... 1.  ...my children grown into kind, generous, patient, and Christ-like people. 2.  ...my home country, the Philippines, once more. 3.  ...the end of gang violence. 4.  ...Ireland, England, and Italy. 5.  ...unborn children be given the right to live. 6.  ...my children be each other's best friends. 7.  ...flying cars. 8.  ...religious freedom ...continue reading

10 Things I Said I Will Never Do

The world was different back then... You know, before I had kids? Back then, I rarely noticed (or gave much hoot about) parents and their children. But when I did notice them, I remember thinking things that started with, "If I was a mom, I would never...." So here I am now, with my foot in my mouth. Thanks Squashed Mom for choosing Stasha's Listicles topic this week! My (embarrassing) list: 10.  yell in public 9.  do the diaper "smell check" 8.  use chocolate for motivational purposes 7.  spend money on useless things 6.  use sarcasm on my kids 5.  eat candy in front of my kids 4.  give in to anything 3.  fall for puppy dog eyes 2.  take my kids to eat fast food 1.  use chocolate for motivational purposes Yes, I repeated that ...continue reading

10 New Year’s Resolutions I (Probably) Will Never Keep

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! As my friend said, "I hope our 2012 will be better than the movie!" I'd really like to list stuff I want to try and achieve, but Stasha's listicles topic is just too fun to resist.  I thought, "am I really that bad that I could actually list 10 resolutions I won't be keeping???" Dare I try? I did. 10.  Eat less chocolate - and quit stealing sharing from my kids' stash of goodies. 9.  Drink less coffee - and drink more tea instead? (Yah, right!) 8.  Fold laundry right after washing & drying - instead of leaving them in the hamper for days too long. 7.  Iron our clothes - instead of just throwing them in the dryer before wearing because I'm too cheap to buy a handheld steamer. 6.  Go to bed no later than 12 every night. 5.  Don't be ...continue reading

Inside The Actor’s Studio: A Q&A Bit

monday listicles

For today's Monday Listicles, Bridget from "Twinisms" takes us inside "The Actor's Studio" with James Lipton and suggests we answer the 10 questions he asks every one of his guests at the end of the show. Just 10 questions. That's easy! So here's mine.  (And do yours right after, and link up with Stasha!) LIST OF 10 LIPTON Q&As 1. What is your favorite word? Chocolate 2. What is your least favorite word? No 3. What turns you on? An intoxicatingly good scent. 4. What turns you off? B.O. & bad breath 5. What sound do you love? Falling rain on leaves 6.
