Hooray for Friday!
Thanks to Robert for hosting November Poem-A-Day and to Sally Jadlow for today’s prompt: Use the phrase “When he’s gone…” for your poem. The phrase can be in the title. It can be the opening line–or the closing line. It can show up somewhere in between. Just use it…somewhere.

All the flowers in the yard
Will never bloom again
For they won’t have any friend
When he’s gone
The cobwebs will multiply
Upon the house’s rafters
For the spiders will have no one to fear
When he’s gone
The well will break and rust
The lawn will dry up and fade
The weeds will run amuck
The trees will lose their shade
The bed will feel cold
Everynight I go to sleep
For the space beside me will be empty
When he’s gone
All the life my heart once had
Will wither and die
For the reason it beat will be lost
When he’s gone

It’s kind of sad, but I really couldn’t put any other story with that statement. Besides, it’s almost that time of the month so I really can’t help but be all emotional or something. Sorry. I promise the mood swings will only last for a week or so.
TMI? Sorry for that too. I’ll shut up now.

and it’s not even “that time” yet!!
At least you get all sweetly melancholy……once I crossed over age 40, the raving b$tch emerges now! yikes!
I try to keep her locked away and drunk on truffles

Oh I hope that day never comes for me! LOL
But….drunk on truffles iswhat I have to look forward to, well, I might just rethink it….;)
I always get sad and much more emotional that time of the month… just a fact of life!!! Such a beautiful and haunting poem.

Thank you. I can’t wait until this “period” is over though.
