She’s A Big Girl Now

Last week was my 3 year old’s 1st week of school.  Ever.

Although I homeschool my 7 year old, we’ve decided to put The Toddler in Preschool because….

1.  I don’t have the materials or resources to turn my house into a preschool learning environment.

2.  I don’t have the capacity to teach a 3rd/4th grader, take care of a needy 1 year old, AND teach a preschooler with the attention span of a squirrel.  (Bounces off the walls like a squirrel too, actually.)

3.  I cannot give or guarantee her a routine learning schedule – something schoolchildren at this age depend upon for success.

So, off to Preschool she went.

The week before, I thought it would be a good bonding idea for my husband to take The Toddler to the store to get a back-to-school item.  I was thinking, you know, a backpack or a new lunchbox.

Lo and behold, he comes out with a week’s worth of outfits for her!

You heard it right, folks!  The Hubs shopped with my girls for their school outfits.

He’s got good taste in clothes, if I do say so myself.  Don’t you agree?

  1. Every homeschooling family is different. For me it just worked out better to keep everyone at home. So cute that your husband went clothes shopping with her!

    • I think that once she’s been “institutionalized”, I can teach her. LOL. Honestly though, I’ll probably homeschool her once she reaches kindergarten. :-D

  2. Oh my, oh my. She’s too adorable. Love her outfits… Good luck to her in preschool. i have to start looking into a preschool for my little one and I’m dreading it!

    • The first week went smoothly. The third week, she cried every morning I dropped her off. We are now in the 3rd week and……so far so good. No tears! Whoohoo!

  4. I think he did a great job. And I think it’s wise of you to know your limitiations and what to do about them. Hopefully a Catholic preschool?

    • Thanks. Unfortunately, there are no Catholic Schools around here (or even within an hour radius) that offer preschool. The lowest grade they have is Kindergarten. I don’t know why. So I found the next best thing…..a Christian preschool. At least they have “worship time” on Fridays when they sing Jesus songs and read stories from the Bible. Also, they pray before meals. Anywho, I’ve enrolled her in our church’s catechesis program for little ones. ;)

  5. She is so cute! Such an adorable little fairy… I bet she is going to have such a great time in the preschool;)

  6. Okay first of all, high fives to your Hubby for the outfits. They are adorable.

Second, omg how CUTE is she! She looks sooooooo much like you, and that smile; so much happiness and mischief. I love it! Hope she had a great time at preschool. She sounds a lot like my 3.5 year old. LOL

    • Thanks for the comment. Sorry it’s taken a while to respond. Homeschool and preschool keeps one momma busy!

Anywho, I was quite impressed with the hubs’ outfit choices too. Actually, I would venture to say that he has better fashion sense than I do! Pretty sad, no? :)

And your little one, I imagine, is as cute in person as she in the photos you post on your blog. Just like her momma, right? ;)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your words mean a lot to me! :)
