If you’ve been visiting me lately, you’ll know that I’m sort of in a cleaning mode right now. And to help with my organization challenges, I’ve been visiting IKEA all week – in store and online.
One place that seriously needed some work was, well, my “work” area. Check it out:

The heavy duty table was a simple solution to have place for all my things – both needed and unnecessary. Under that though, I had to put a safety gate to keep the baby away from the outlet. Ingenious, I know.
But I’m sure you could tell that something needed to be done with this space.
Hellllloooooo IKEA!
And just like that, a transformation took place.
Would you look at that. A mini corner office with plenty of desk space. And the computer cords are well hidden under and behind too. Nifty, right?

And what’s this??? The attached bookshelf has been turned into the perfect mini children’s library! Can you say, “Sweetness!?”

I’m very happy with this desk, as you can see. I am loving the attached bookshelf because we SOOOO needed ONE place for all those children’s books. And since it kind of compartmentalizes everything into one place, we got some more floor space to play on too! Perfect for when all 3 kids are playing on the floor at the same time, when Eldest and the hubs are practicing Taekwondo, when the Toddler is dancing around like a crazy grasshopper on speed, and when the baby is drunkenly going around in circles chasing after balls and cars.
The tricky part now, though, is to keep things where they belong. “A place for everything and everything in its place.” I don’t know who said that, but I plan on getting my kids, the hubs, AND myself to live by it.
Good plan? I thought so, too.
So….what have YOU been doing around the house lately? Got IKEA?
P.S. This post is not sponsored by IKEA. I just love that place. Honestly though, they really ought to make me an IKEA mom ambassador…don’t you think so? May I ought to start a petition….

I love IKEA too and have been wanting to go for a while, Hubby hates it though and going by myself with all three kids is no fun. UGH,,, Love what you did and I love that shelf. I’ve been wanting one of those as a room divider.

3 kids by yourself at IKEA…I know how that is. I usually bring lots of snack and bribe them to be good with promises of desserts…it usually works.
You make a revolution in the room. The attached bookshelf saves lots of space. It is looking good now. I am planning to make a change in my house before the Christmas & obviously IKEA is beside me. There is no alternative other than IKEA in my dictionary.

Change is good really

We are so lucky to have IKEA nearby, yes? And I sorta have the same ultimate goal…to be ready for Christmas!

looks good! I love Ikea too. If I had the money to go crazy in that store, boy….how organized this place could be!!
I really like the little table and chairs – that’s great!
