Play With Me

You are the center of my universe
I like it when you play with me

Even when you kick me
Or throw me across the room

I know that you love me

And when you hit me with things
Or push me around

Still, I know that you love me

When you leave me alone at night
Or abandon me without a thought

I trust that you still love me

Because although I lay helpless,
Lying on the bamboo floor
Staring at the time ticking by
And willing the sun to rise

Eventually, you come down the stairs

And play with me again.

*Currently, this is CJ’s favorite ball.  It’s pretty much been through it all.  And the coolest part? It lights up too.*

  4. Oh, I love that you captured a favorite toy! It’s so very fun to look back and remember what they were into at different ages!

    {I have to admit that you threw me off with the “throw me across the room” Clever girl, you! :) }

  6. My litlte guy is really into balls, too. He doesn’t have one that light up, though. I am sure that one like that would be a BIG hit!

    • You know I can’t even remember where we got this one. But he likes non-light up balls too – that’s why he tends to take his sisters’ balls too! LOL

  7. Such an adorable bunch of great rhymes! You’re really talented! The ball has to be proud because of this great poem!
