Each week, Hilary at Feeling Beachie lists four statements with a blank for you to fill in on your own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her at feelingbeachie@gmail.com. If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop! This week’s co-host is Pam from Trooppetrie.
We would LOVE it if you could please help us spread the word about this hop…. So, please tweet, FaceBook share, and add the linky to your post…
This week’s statements:
1. The last time I was on vacation, I went to ___
2. For ___I like to eat___
3. My heart hurts when____________because_______________________.
4. Why must _____________ just to____________________.
My answers:
1. The last time I was on vacation, I went to my mom’s house. Air Conditioning, free food, free babysitting, a big house, satellite t.v., a backyard, and did I mention Air Conditioning? Perfect vacation!
2. For chilly, rainy days I like to eat ice cream because I like how cool they both make me feel.
3. My heart hurts when I remember how many babies die of abortion every day because as Horton the Elephant would say, “A person’s a person, no matter how small.” Such innocence destroyed before they even have a chance in the world is heartbreaking!
4. Why must people wait in line forever just to get an iPhone, iPad, or iAnything? It’s totally ridiculous!
And now…a bit of poetry. Because I missed my own Thursday Poetry Corner.
I’m running out of things to say.
I cannot pluck words out from thin air
The inspiration is just not there
I’ve said so much into this space
But I’m not sure if I was heard
I think I’m feeling a bit absurd
Should I continue with what I do?
Should I change the way I am?
I can be sassy, spunky, or glam
Why do I speak these words?
Who’s meant to hear them anyway?
I’m running out of things to say.

Last time I was on vacation, I went to Maui…unless you want to consider the last three weeks as ‘vacation’. It could be, because I got severance when I left the last employer, and didn’t need to use any other resources to get by…
For day to day living, I like to eat simply. I like to spend the whole day cooking a cheap cut of meat and making it flavorful and rich. Corned beef and cabbage, Red beans and rice Sinegang…those are day-to-day meals. Only when company comes do we take out th baby back ribs or ribeye steak…
My heart hurts when I think of how many marriages are killed by ‘life in the modern world’, and its emphasis on physical beauty and temporal pleasure. Pornography kills marriages.
I totally agree with your last one (well, all of them). I do not get it.
I began working again…yay!
Congratulations on your new job, my friend! I hope it is truly where God means for you to be.
Anywhere in Hawaii would do just fine for me, thank you very much.
Eating simply….you know, I kinda miss the “street food” back in the Philippines. They might not be the most sanitary, but they are definitely yummy!
Marriage and modern world. Somehow, they seem to clash. And yes, pornography kills marriages…actually, just about anything, yes?
I didn’t get in line for the iPhone. LOL.
Thank you, so much. It’s great so far, and tomorrow I get my first paycheck! Th enviroment is pretty calm but I expect to see a war-room attitude when problems arise. The boss referred to my ‘job description’as ‘firefighter’. I’m settlingin nicely, though.
I am so blessed to be able to travel! We went almost 10 years without traveling at all, except for locally, within a few hours of home. Now all our flights are 5 hours or more. We’re going to the Virgin Islands for our anniversary in January. Of course, we always visit churches wherever we go, to thank Goid for the beauty of the place.
I’ve heard a lot from my brother in law about the street food, and I remember buying food on a stick on the street in Olongapo in my Navy days, so I do know what you mean…Dirty ice cream, the palengke, and so on…
I agree that porn kills…period.
I’ve never stood in line for any wireless device…nice to see you back…

Your poems are meaningful yet simplistic and easy to understand. That’s why I like them.
Thank you. I’ve never been one for fancy words and complicated meanings. I’m not that smart! Hahaha!

I love my mom’s (and dad’s) place! The kids love it there too.
I agree with #3 about abortion. I filled in the same thing. I am especially sensitive to abortion lately due to my own pregnancy. I do understand why some women might consider/choose abortion – to a limit – but I still think it’s awful. :-/ It’s a hard topic.

It is definitely a hot topic. Wasn’t sure what I’d get after posting it… But it really does make me sad though.

Going to your mommy’s house is wonderful…..no matter how big or small you are! Although, my dad could freeze you outta the house with how cold he sets the A/C unit! LOL

Abortion – such a hot topic. Naturally, I would be on the pro-life side because it breaks my heart to think that a woman would feel she had no other choice but to kill her baby. But at the same time, it is her choice, and I do believe in that. This is would be an example where God shouldn’t trust us with “free will” methinks.
And don’t dare stop your poems! we all might be in a season of “what the heck to say”, but inspiration is all around us and will come flooding back in time. especially this time of year, when the seasons are changing and all Nature is showing her colours. The dance of a falling leaf had me running for paper and pen the other day.
How’s that for a poetry prompt? “Change” perfect time of year to reflect on that

Change. I like that prompt. I will spread the word (to our foursome poetry group – haha). Hopefully, I’ll be inspired by Thursday.

Thank you. It seems though, that I’m in a little bit of a blogging rut these days. That’s why my posts are few and far between – AND I go the easy fill-in way….
