I am using my powers of BILOCATION today. Not only am I here with poetic inspiration for you, I am also at Greta’s GFunkified talking about my great expectations as a SAHM and Homeschooler. So go ahead and hop on over there to laugh at how terribly wrong my expectations were…..THEN, come on back and get your weekly dose of poetry. ;)

The Perfect ManIn 5 days, it will be Father’s Day. Almost every kid in the world will be shouting out how his or her father is “The Best Dad” ever. Tie sales will go up 569%. But what about you? What qualifies as “The Perfect Father?” Or, if you feel so inclined to share, what makes “The Perfect Man?”
Yes, yes, I know. No one is perfect. But one can dream, right? And besides, I have to brag that I do have someone who’s pretty close to perfect. And that’s pretty good enough for me. Especially when he know that he is not perfect, knows his faults, and works on those faults when he can. Lucky me, yes?
Inspired by this wonderful husband and father to my children, I dedicate this poem – which, I’m pretty sure will make him blush – that lists how beautiful he is to me.
The Perfect Man
The perfect man would be
The one who saves me from me
He wouldn’t slay the dragon for me
Instead he’d sharpen my sword and count to three
He wouldn’t pull me out of darkness
Rather, he’d throw me a torch so my courage I could harness
He wouldn’t sit with me as I wallow in self-pity
Instead he’d coach on the sidelines ’til I snapped back to reality
He wouldn’t let me feel too much pride in the little things I do
Because he wants me to be humble, and go to Heaven too
My perfect man lets me fall
So I can learn to brush myself and stand up tall
Lucky for me I married this perfect one
My perfect man whose name is Son.
I love you sweetie! (Advanced) Happy Father’s Day!
So….let’s hear about your perfect man too!

you’re definitely right about the not perfect part…and the “blushing” part
for the record I have never THROWN a torch…”hand” or “pass”, maybe, but never throw a torch.
I love you!!!

I caught him? Or he caught me? Can’t tell these days.
My hubby is a real perfect man, he always helps me with the housework when he is at home. And that’s why I am in trouble, because I have no idea what to get him for father’s day. I want something personal but I am not talented enough to do something my own.

I am in the same dilemma. I am clueless! Not one idea! *sigh* Good luck to both of us!
You must be very lucky about your husband…Unfortunately, my husband has to work all-day long and doesn’t have any time for a whole day spent with me…I know it’s a shame…

I do feel lucky. Sorry to hear you don’t get to spend as much time with yours… But there’s always the weekends, right?
