And the Father of the Year Award goes to…

 Poetry Workshop

Oh special day for a special someone.  So my post today is a two-for-one.

First is Galit and Alison’s “Memories Captured.”  I wanted to show how wonderful my main man is.  What better way but through a collage, right?

*If you were wondering, I used www.picmonkey.com to create this collage.  It’s free!*

And now…a poem.

Ahem.

Of Men Called Father

There are some special people in the world
They are called Ba, Tatay, Dad, or Father
Their thoughts differ from yours and mine
Because they live their lives for others

Ba’s mealtime is a battleground
A place to teach and practice virtues galore
Patience, kindness, a gentle voice
Perseverance, manners and more

And Tatay’s not just a model at the table
For little eyes are always watching
Belonging to little people always nearby
Ever present, listening and learning

Dad’s days are busy, busy, busy
Adventures wait at home after a long day at work
Tea parties, wiping tears, ticklefests, and building blocks
Changing diapers and going to the park

Father’s truly a gift from above
His arms, the safest place to be
His heart, a wellspring of love
He is where we always long to be.
