Let me be the first to shout….Happy Mother’s Day! The month of May, if you’ve noticed from all the merchandise at your local stores, is pretty much dedicated to Mothers. I’m not complaining. It’s about time we get recognition for (quite possibly) the hardest-non-monetary job in the world, right? You’ve probably already guessed it – this month, we will dedicate each week of poetry to moms (or motherhood). Have fun!
#1: May 1
“April showers bring May flowers.”I don’t quite know where that quote came from, but I love it. So this week, I’d like you to pick a flower to represent your mom, you (if you’re a mom), or just motherhood in general. Whichever works for you. So we’re going for some sort of symbolism here. It wouldn’t hurt to include a pic of the flower and the mom you’re talking about either. That way, it’ll be easier for us readers to truly capture the emotion you’re trying to convey. But don’t fret too much it’s just an option!
The Daisy
captured by her
beauty
she gives such
loyal love
in all her
innocence
and
purity
she will teach
and she will give
all the
patience
that you need
you will
fall in love
with her
simplicity
My Mother

Love, love, love this prompt! I think I’m the only one who didn’t get the newsletter. I even resubsricbed!? *pout*
Nevertheless, looking forward to this month’s poetry. Eeeep!!!
Great poem, great photo! I love daisies, they’re so happy, youthful almost! So it’s easy for me to see why you chose a daisy. You definitely got it from your mama. She’s beautiful!

Thank you. I can only hope to stay as youthful in my old age the wah my mother does!
And I’ll see if I can manually resubscribe you. So you should the June one when it comes out. I’ll email you May’s so you can have a copy!
Happy mother’s day to you, too! It has been such a beautiful day for me, my son has brought me some flowers from the garden early in the morning, and he has learnt a poem as well. He was so cute! It has made me crying, it was the sweetest thing I’ve ever got from him.

That was so sweet of him! I wonder how long he had been planning that? What a wonderful morning gift. Hope your week will be just as sweet!
This prompt was a bit hard for me. I don’t have the best relationship with my mom. In fact I feel very sad for her.
I enjoyed reading your poem. This should be an interesting month.
Sorry to hear about you and your mom. This will be an interesting month for sure.
My mother is the best. She gave me unconditional love. There were times when I was rude with her, cruel to her but still she loved me. I would compare her to the flower of jasmine which gives good smell day and night the way my mother loved me day and night. I love her very much.

What very sweet sentiments about your mother. Jasmine is one of my favorite flowers and scents. I hope she knows you feel this way!
