A Love Story

I am doing the impossible today!  (Which, afterwards, would make it possible because then, well, I did it.)

In this post, I will do 3 prompts in one!

My Poetry Workshop, Stasha’s Monday Listicles, and Galit/Alison’s Memories Captured.

Yep.  Awesome, right?

THE PROMPTS:

Poetry Workshop: Write a story in the form of a poem.  Easy one, right?  Write a story from your life, a made up one, or any story you want!  This kinda makes me think of Dr. Seuss poems…

Monday Listicles:  A list of 10 loves!

Memories Captured:  February Memories

I give you my mushy wedding photo, with 10 words of love around it, and underneath, a love story written in narrative verse!

(If you wrote a poem this week – narrative or not – please do link up with us and play along!)

A LOVE STORY

She flew from across the sea, to that place they call “Land of the Free”

He was already there from the beginning, in the city – surviving

She had the best of times, those high school years

He was zooming with high colors through his college years

She entered the scene as he was a senior

He met her on the volleyball court –  indoors

She hardly noticed him as she played along

He couldn’t help his heart from hearing her song

She went her way, her life moved on

He graduated, from there he was gone

But he came back after two years, to continue his post-grad studies

He didn’t expect to see her again, and his heart to sing sweet melodies

She  met him again on the volleyball court, but this time she noticed him

He said hello, loved her smile, and thought how to get her to like him

She fell for the silent, handsome type – after so many double dates

He was smitten with her – it must’ve been fate

She finished college and grad school with him at her side

He made all the plans to make her his bride

She said yes….to have and to hold

He promised that together, they would grow old

She became his wife, mother to their little ones

He became her husband, father to their daughters and son

She now sings of his love, everyday

He does all he can to show his love in every way

And as the years pass, their family will grow

And of their love, the whole world will know.

    • Thanks! I've been meaning to link up with Stasha and Galit/Alison for a while but hadn't gotten around to do doing so. I thought today's post would be a perfect chance to do so! Came out better than I thought!

  9. I love your wedding picture! I met a lady today whose anniversary is Valentines day. She said she had to get married on Val-day because her last name became LOVE. You both seem to be looking beyond the camera to a future only you can see. How utterly romantic. (Something I discovered since I met my now husband a dozen years ago. I'm a closet romantic. Who knew?) I love the font you've used, too.

  15. right here, this is why you are The Muse!
I love, love, love your wedding picture! And what a great love story. I met a cute boy on the indoor volley court once too. but he couldn’t return my jump serve, or my spike, and well….that was pretty much the end of that. guess he wasn’t the strong type.
be back tomorrow with my narrative…..it is done on paper….but is taking a bit of time to type! (yes, that’s kind of a warning about the length — it’s almost epic! LOL)
