Poetry Workshop: Limerick Fun

I’m late for own workshop! Ahhh!Poetry Workshop

Truly. I apologize.

But thanks to those of you who have been waiting patiently on the sidelines for me to put up the linky.  I can’t wait to read your poems!

{And thank you to those who became fireworks for us last week – Rory, Amber, and Cyn!}

This week, the challenge is to take any topic and write a Limerick.  That means….1st and 2nd lines rhyme with each other.  3rd and 4th lines are shorter and rhyme with each other.  5th line rhymes with 1st and 2nd lines – (and usually brings the humor or the punch in the whole poem).  (Repeat IF needed.)  That’s it!

But, like always, you are free to write whatever you want in any style.  You don’t even have to rhyme!

So…on with the post!  My entry….

Where You Are

I lost you on the way to somewhere

If only you could yell from there

say, “I’m here!”

say, “I’m near!”

But you are just my hair.

  4. I tried and tried to do this one but nothing came out right. I can't count how many attempts I made before I just threw my hands up in the air and gave up. ;)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your words mean a lot to me! :)
